Letter Writing Help

I've decided to try a few Latin dating sites. I'll need to make a profile and write messages to women. I'd appreciate any help here.

I'll help. I've written a decent amount of personal ads and dating profiles in my time. Just tell me the essential things you want included, and I'll whip something up. I know very little Spanish though, so this being for Latin women, I'll have to use a translator with my little knowledge of Spanish. Or you can give it to someone fluent to translate. Just give the word, and I'm on it.

You have full creative license to adjust in any way. Outside of these three areas, I don't know how much can be done though.

Also what's your experience with using/not using a photo. I currently don't have one. Should I put one up?

I think for now, just a profile and just in English is fine. We can hold off on letter writing and spanish.

I know it's a little short, but I was mainly trying to cover the main parameters. I used some of what I have written in my craigslist ads for foreign women also. Let me know if you want me to write about anything else.

I say definitely use a picture. Much better response rate.

In the part about yourself, you wrote about what you are looking for.  I think this should just be about yourself.

Will you include the same picture with both?  The picture is at least as important as the content of the ad.  If you send me your picture privately, I can show it to my wife for comments.

Yes, same picture for both. I don't plan to invest much effort at first. I'll just experiment with slight variations (long headlines vs short headlines, all capital headlines vs non capital, different content, ect). If I get any traction I'll high a photographer to take good photos of me.

Right now I'm just trying to see if I'll get attraction at all, so I've targeted all of Mexico. Down the road though I'll refine the target region more, perhaps to just Baja California.

Learned a few things:

There's only one good Mexican dating website around, Mexican Cupid. All the other dating sites are either geared towards Latin America as a whole or are saturated with off site ads and have web 2.0'ish feels.

On Mexican Cupid you can post a profile with the free membership, but you can't communicate unless you have a paid membership. I upped my status to paid.

Adjustments:

I changed area targeting to Baja. No point in targeting 99% of Mexico. I'll likely never visit a place like Campeche. I should forget about most of the country.

Since I'm paying for membership, I might as well have the best photos to go with it. I put an ad out on craigs list to hire a photographer. I'll probably have new photos by next week.
