I'm going to be starting school in August and after lots of consideration I've decided to pursue a degree in Secondary Education. Upon Graduating I plan to apply for EFL (English as a Foreign Language) jobs and get the hell out of America for awhile. I'm doing this for several reasons. First of all, I haven't traveled much and want to see the world and experience other cultures. Secondly,I hope to find a foreign woman to marry. Does anyone have any advice as to where I should go? I want to go to a place where prostitution is legal and a place where I can find a decent woman to marry. Which countries would meet my needs? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
China is probably the easiest place to get an EFL job right now and sort of satisfies your other requirements, at least in places, but it is impossible to know what the situation will be by the time you are prepared to travel.
You have a point on the last part. But I can't imagine that the demand for English Teachers is just going to go away.
It is not going away, but it has rapidly diminished since around 2009. The reasons are obvious: declining birth rates in target countries, the global recession leading to a lack of funds to spend on elective items, the training of local teachers with very good English, the relative economic decline of the West and the fact that no-one wants to learn the language and culture of loser societies that are circling the drain. At the same time, the armies of overeducated and underemployed kids in the West have found out about EFL on Facebook, so the ratio of teachers to positions has taken a major turn for the worse from a teacher's perspective.
Korea used to be a good market for EFL, but has now gone to crap for the above reasons. Vietnam might still be OK. However, since you are still being educated, it might be best to find out what qualifications they want in the Middle East such as Saudi and get those. You can still make a lot of money there will just the right qualifications.
